Anthony Nolan is a blood cancer charity that registers bone marrow donors. Approximately half of everyone who joins the bone marrow register does so online. Anthony Nolan is aiming to send out 30,000 spit kits to potential lifesavers all over the UK. Your help is needed to pack more spit kits – the saliva sample tubes which get sent to potential new donors – as quickly as possible.
Looking for regular and reliable volunteers to join a weekly or monthly spit-kit social where you will be pre-packing and then sending out vital ‘spit-kits’ to potential lifesavers. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, have fun and make a real difference to life-saving work.
Location: 2 Heathgate Place, 75-87 Agincourt Road, NW3 2NU
Tube: Belsize Park tube station (Edgware branch of the Northern line) then a 12 minutes walk
Hampstead Heath rail station or Gospel Oak rail station (overland)
Buses: C11, 24 and 46
Note: Please do not attend any volunteering opportunity listed on this website until you have taken steps to meet with us and become registered with Hands On London. Charities and community groups featured on our events calendar need to know that volunteers are registered and that their identity has been independently verified – they have requested confirmation of this via Hands On London. If you attend without being registered or approved, it is likely you will be turned away and have a wasted journey.
