Blackfriars Settlement Lunch club offers a welcome to all who are 50 or over.
The club prides itself in creating a warm atmosphere where friends can meet and new friends made. A regular activities program ensures that there is plenty of fun and laughter. The lunch club is also a hub where people can obtain information, advice and support in warm, friendly surroundings. The lunch club is extremely popular with isolated people in the area. Each week it is attended by 30-40 people.
Tasks on the day might include:
- Assisting in setting up and taking money/giving receipts
- Assisting in setting up tables and meal preparation
- Writing menu on menu board
- Helping less able members with tea and coffee
- Helping to serve meal, clean up and wash up
- Speak with members, get to know them, and help with or organise afternoon activity
Location: Blackfriars Settlement, 1 Rushworth Street in London SE1 0RB. The office is by the railway bridge next to the junction of Pocock Street.
Tube: Southwark (Jubilee line) or Waterloo Station (Barkerloo, Jubilee, Northern, Waterloo and City lines and overground trains), Borough (Northern line), London Bridge (Jubilee and Northern lines) and Elephant and Castle (Bakerloo and Northern lines).
