Battersea Library

There are still many people who struggle to work a smartphone or laptop and it’s often the elderly in our community that are left behind by the advancement of technology. We run drop-in clinics teaching things like how to save photos, how to use social media or just answering any queries the Learners ask. We believe learning new technology shouldn’t be stressful so our atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with plenty of free tea and biscuits.
We welcome new volunteers with a wide range of abilities. Tech & Tea events are a great chance to meet other locals from your area and socialise, as well as being an important way of building the confidence of those who are learning new IT skills.
Tasks on the day might include:
• Setting up tables and chairs
• Helping make tea and layout the refreshments
• Answering (or even googling) the answers to tech questions
• Having a chat and enjoying a cuppa with other Helpers and Learners
We also occasionally go to the pub afterwards which everyone is free to join. We look forward to seeing you there!

Note: Please do not attend any volunteering opportunity listed on this website until you have received a volunteer information pack, signed the HandsOn London Membership Agreement and verified your ID. Our community partners need to know that HandsOn London volunteers have been properly registered before supporting a project. Thank you!
